The Osborn Middle School Music department consists of 2 teachers, Mrs. Dolan and Mrs. Hulihan. Courses currently offered are Music & Media (M&M for short), Music and Dance (MAD for short), Choir, Intermediate Band, and Symphonic Band.
Students in the OMS Music program have gone on to perform in several events, most notably the Greater Phoenix Choir Fesitval and Greater Phoenix Band Festival. This year, 10 choir students were sent to the GPCF and 4 band students were selected to participate in the GPBF. The Osborn Middle School Symphonic Band has been invited to play at the Borders Biltmore as well as various community functions in the Encanto neighborhood.
A characteristic that makes OMS unique from other nearby schools and school districts is that the OMS Music Faculty take pride in creating new curriculum that reflects the desires of the student body. This year, MAD was added to the course offerings as a result of this mission. Past classes have included Musical Theatre, Percussion Ensemble, and more.
